We have your recording needs covered

The Sýrland complex consists of studios at five different locations, each filled with with state-of-the-art equipment and run by some of the most talented engineers around. Many of Iceland’s greatest artists as well as various international superstars have recorded here over the years, including The Sugarcubes, Björk, Blur, Damon Albarn, Morten Harken and of course Sigur Rós, who recorded their first record, Ágætis Byrjun, with us at Sýrland.

Last year’s critically acclaimed book “The 100 Greatest Icelandic Albums of All Time” demonstrated Sýrland’s impact on the Icelandic music scene. Of the 100 best albums as determined by crictics and the general public, almost two-thirds were recorded, mixed or mastered in Sýrland’s studios. This is almost certainly a world record, of which we’re very proud!

Sýrland also owns two state-of-the-art mobile studios, which allow for recording almost anywhere. Everything from a single violin in a church to large-scale concerts with symphony orchestras are part of Sýrland’s track record.

We’ve recorded most of the major concerts that have taken place in Iceland over the past few years, such as Hjaltalín and the Icelandic Symphony Orchestra, the Nature Concert with Björk and Sigur Rós in Laugardalur valley, Þursaflokkurinn and the Caput Ensemble at Laugardalshöll, Björgvin Halldórsson and the Icelandic Symphony Orchestra at Laugardalshöll, the Frostroses Christmas Concert and a lot more...

Sýrland is home to several top-notch recording engineers, such as Sveinn Kjartansson, Guðmundur Kristinn Jónsson (Kiddi from the band Hjálmar), Daði Birgisson, Aron Þ. Arnarsson, Hafþór Karlsson (Haffi Tempo), Baldvin A B Aalen, Kristinn Sturluson, Styrmir Hauksson, Páll Sveinn Guðmundsson, Jósef Smith, Gunnar Valdimarsson, Ívar Baldvin Júlíusson, Friðjón Jónsson and Jón Valur Guðmundsson.
